Reading Volunteer Training - Oct 30th at 10:45am

Keele St PS staff are pleased to make our official call out for classroom reading volunteers at Keele Street PS! We are looking for volunteers who are interested in partnering with teachers to help our students practice their reading skills. Volunteers should be available on a regular basis to come to school during the school day to read with students.

This year, family members who would like to be reading volunteers will be asked to a short training session on Monday, October 30th, 2023 at 10:45 AM. At this session, we will review strategies that enhance literacy skills and tips to use while working with students. Volunteers will be connected with an interested teacher/classroom to work with selected students on their reading skills.

If you would like to be a reading Volunteer, please complete the following Reading Volunteer Interest Form. 

Please note that for this volunteer position and for any other regularly occurring volunteer positions at any TDSB school, a Police Check is required. Effective September 5, 2023, Toronto Police Service has moved online for Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC). TDSB has been given a unique code that applicants will be required to use:

All new applicants are strongly encouraged to apply online. If this is unattainable for any reason, please email the PRC office at PoliceReferenceCheckOffice@tdsb.on.ca for the new form.

If you already have completed a PRC/VSC application in previous years, please ensure that you complete your Annual Offence Declaration (AOD) form. This can be completed online at the school. If you need to complete your AOD, please drop by the main office and speak to the Office Administrator (Rita D’India) or the Vice Principal (Krystine Suvoda).

Fun Fair - Sat Sept 27th from 11am to 3pm

  The Keele Street PS annual Fun Fair is on!  Saturday September 27th from 11AM - 3PM   Everyone’s favourite fall event is back at Keele! Bouncy Castles , g ames for young and old, an obstacle course for the wild at heart, basket raffle with fantastic items, face painting , a fire truck visit , and so much more.  Come hungry!
