About School Advisory Council

Keele Street Public School is an amazing community located in the heart of west Toronto! Through the School Advisory Council (SAC, frequently called 'Parent Council'), the families of Keele students can support our kids, staff, and community!

Parent Council hosts open meetings 4 times a year where parents and staff get together to discuss priorities and plans for the school. We also fundraise throughout the year to help support equipment costs, events, and field trips.

During the 2025-2026 school year, Keele Parent Council leds the following events:
  • The Fall Fun Fair
  • Pizza lunches
  • Halloween costume & winter gear swap
  • Food & bake sales at school concerts
  • The Holiday Pop-Up Shop
  • Glow in the Dark dance
  • Movie night
We also support staff-led events and fundraisers whenever possible.

Who are we?
Keele's School Advisory Council is made up of parents, guardians, community members, the principal, Keele St PS staff, and others.

What do we do?
The School Advisory Council is a volunteer advisory body. Our purpose is to work alongside the staff at Keele to enhance our children’s educational experience and to strengthen their sense of community, both within the school and around our neighbourhood.

We advise the principal on a variety of issues and activities relating to school achievement, curriculum goals and priorities, school budget priorities, school safety, health and wellness initiatives, renovation plans, and after school activities.

We also organize fundraising and community-building events to purchase technology, books and other supplies to supplement and enhance the curriculum.

When do we meet?
Meetings occur from 6:30-8pm in the library and on Zoom (BABYSITTING AND SNACKS ARE PROVIDED). Everyone is welcome to join. Meetings are held in-person in the school library (next to the main office) and are also on Zoom (see weekly newsletter from Ms. Koziol and/or check your email for the Zoom link).

Want to catch up on the meetings you haven't been able to attend? You can find the meeting agendas, minutes and presentations here.

What are the open positions?
You can still join the council as a voting member! For more details about council positions, please visit Council Roles & Responsibilities.

What if I can't go to meetings but I still want to be involved?
Check out the "Get Involved" section of this website to learn more about volunteer opportunities. Our goal is to connect you with the school in a way that works best for you!
