Parent Council Meeting - Wed Nov 27 - 6:30-8pm

We will be having our second Parent School Advisory Council meeting on  Wed Nov 27th from 6:30-8pm  in the school library or via Zoom ( https://caiglobal-org.zoom.us/j/97330671628 ). Babysitting and snacks are provided for the in-person meetings. At our  meetings  we always approve the minutes from the previous  meeting , hear updates from the principal and VP, and discuss matters related to the school. We will be discussing how we've used allocated funds this year, voting on a few more ways to spend funds, and hearing an update about our School Council Innovation Grant application.  We encourage everyone to come out to this  meeting---they are fun and informative! Please join if you are able to participate! 

Keele Holiday Pop-up Shop - Donate Items Until Wed Dec 11th

We're so excited to bring our Holiday Pop-up Shop back to Keele this year.  Starting now you can donate your new or gently used items that aren't getting the attention they deserve to the  Keele Holiday Pop-up Shop . Students will get the chance to buy the items for 25 cents to give to their friends and family over the holidays. It's a great way to reuse and recycle items you aren't using, and for the students to experience how it can feel better to give rather than receive.  We ask for the following new or gently used items to be donated (donation bin is set-up outside of the office until Wednesday December 11th):  Books,  jewellery , candles, scarves, note cards, tea towels, decorative items, picture frames, magnets, accessories, games, puzzles, stuffed animals, toys, ornaments, mugs, and more!  The pop-up shop will be held on  Thursday December 12th  in the school library. Afterschool Chess Club - Mon Nov 25 to Mon Jan 27 - Sign up now!

We are excited to share that ExtraEd will be running an afterschool chess club at Keele on Mondays in the library for 8 weeks---from Mon Nov 25 th  to Mon Jan 27 th . Each class is one hour (3:20pm-4:20pm).  Students from grades 1 to 8 who have never played a game of chess to the most experienced players are all welcome! Students will be provided with instruction and grouped with other students at their level.  Every child is able to participate in the program, regardless of economic circumstances. We will be having our first Parent School Advisory Council meeting on  Tues Oct 8th from 6:30-8pm  in the school library or via Zoom (https://caiglobal-org.zoom.us/j/96269236844). Babysitting and snacks are provided for the in-person meetings. At our  meetings  we always approve the minutes from the previous  meeting , hear updates from the principal and VP, and discuss matters related to the school. At the first  meeting , we will be nominating a new School  Parent   Council   executive. We encourage everyone to come out to this  meeting  and to think about running for a position. Halloween Costume and Winter Gear Swap - Oct 17 and 18

  Keele St. P.S. will be doing our annual   Halloween Costume and Winter Gear swap ! The goal of this swap is to ensure that all students at Keele St. P.S. have a Halloween costume and warm outdoor winter gear for the cold months that are approaching...all for   FREE !  From  now to Wednesday October 16,  there will be bins outside of the office for you to  drop off  your clean, gently used, in all sizes (infant to adult): Halloween costumes Warm winter coats, snow pants, boots, hats, mittens, gloves, and scarves Please ensure your Halloween costumes go in the "Halloween" bin, and your warm winter gear goes in the "Winter Gear" bin. Note: We will not accept any winter clothing/gear that is not listed above.  From  Thursday   October 17 to Friday October 18 , you can come to tables set up at the corner of Keele St. and Glenlake Ave. either in the morning (8:15-9:00am) or after school (3:10-3:45pm) to  pick up  a Halloween costume or warm winter gear for FREE!  We ask

Pizza Days - Sign up by Thurs Oct 10th!

  Pizza days are back at Keele St. P.S. for 2024-2025! Save yourself from lunch making by supporting this delicious fundraising initiative! There will be 9 pizza days from October – June. Children will receive 2 slices of pepperoni or cheese pizza (from Pizza Pizza) delivered to their classroom during lunch hour. Mark your calendars with these important dates: Fri October 25 Fri November 22 Fri December 20 Fri January 31 Fri February 28 Fri March 28 Fri April 25 Fri May 23 Fri June 13 Refunds will not be given for meals missed due to absence, vacation, or illness.   The deadline to sign up and pay for pizza days is Thursday October 10, 2024 .  The  cost for all 9 pizza days is $ 45. If your child requires a special order due to an allergy (e.g. lactose, gluten), please email us at keeleadvisorycouncil@gmail.com and we can determine whether we can accommodate their need. Note that cheese pizza will be the only option available to students in Kindergarten. We want all students to be abl
